hey brian, from what i understand, this guy will send you excess amount and you have to give him change for his money. sounds too shady. be careful - i got a friend who fell victim to this scam where they sent her a fake check (she's so naive she didn't know it was fake until she tried to cash it and almost got arrested) of an amount which is about a couple of hundred dollars more than what she was selling for and she had to send some money back. she was transacting with someone in africa - you got two people from UK - watch out, they may be the same people but trying to sound from different places. hopefully they are not, but just want to give you some warning.

The guy's a grad student in the UK and he writes like that?!?! It's almost downright undecipherable! I really have to agree--it's a scam.

brian, i hope you understand josh's late phone call last night. he was really concerned when i told him about this scam that he wanted to make sure you get the warning personally. he asked me why i haven't called you. i told him i already left you a comment on your blog (and i am low on my cellphone minutes). i guess he thought it was more urgent than that so he asked for your number and then called you from his cellphone. i'm glad you got the message. say hi to monette!
